Introducing Senior Portrait Freedom

High School senior portraits have become an integral part of the graduation experience.  For most people, it is a big deal.  Students often want mementos to give their friends and parents want something to commemorate this important part of their child’s life.

This summer, I hope to offer a senior portrait experience that is something different than what most studios and other photographers offer.  My aim is not simply to be another option among all the talented photographers in Howard County and the surrounding areas.   If the studio experience is not for you, if you want your senior portraits outside or in places important to you, and if you want a lot of images from which to choose, I might have something for you.  Check out this informational brochure doohicky for a bit more info!

If that intrigues you, there’s more information about my business in the photography section of this site.  Any questions beyond that?  Email me!

I hope you’ll consider me as you are looking for a senior portrait photographer.  My style may not be right for you, and that’s fine.  I can even try to help you find a photographer who will be better able to provide what you’re looking for.  In fact, here’s a list of some of the portrait photographers in the Howard County area.

I wish you the best in your search for a great portrait photographer!

Ken & Kristin

I had the pleasure of taking engagement photos for two good friends this February. They met several years ago on a missions trip in the Dominican, served together as after-school tutors for a trailer park near their college, began dating, and will be married this July!

We went to Antiques on Main (a special thanks for their helpfulness and willingness to let us shoot there!) in Christiansburg, VA, for a few shots before heading over to Heritage Park in Blacksburg. Congratulations Ken and Kristin and all the best for your marriage!

Welcome

Last summer, I was working at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, enjoying the challenge but wondering why I was spending the vast majority of my summer sitting in a chair in a tiny room with walls the color of toothpaste.

Somehow, most likely at the suggestion of Joseph Rooks, I stumbled upon Chris Guillebeau's website, the Art of Non Conformity, while on lunch break one day.  I read nearly the whole website and began to think, what do I really want to do with my last summer in college?

This website is the first major step in the fulfillment of that dream.  I hope the blog contains insights and information you, dear reader, find useful.  Perhaps you are looking for a portrait photographer in the Howard County area.  If I don't provide what you're looking for, I'll help you find someone who does.  Maybe you're looking for some art to set as your desktop background or adorn your walls - it's possible something here will catch your eye.

This website will grow over the coming months, especially once school lets out in the middle of May.  I'd love your comments and suggestions - email me!

My next steps are to have a full-fledged business running and find ways that I can serve my community back home in Howard County, Maryland.  I hope this blog can document what will end up to be an incredibly rewarding summer, as well as be a relevant destination as time goes forward!

Thanks for visiting!
